A foldable base for counters having an “upright” position and a “folded” position, the base comprises a front panel; a first side panel hingedly connected to the front panel, the first side panel extending backwards from the front panel in the “upright” position of the base; a spacer joined to the front panel: a second side panel hingedly connected to the spacer, the second panel being opposite to the first side panel in the “upright” position of the base; and a cover that is mounted on the base in the “upright” position of the base; in the “folded” position of the base one of the side panels is placed or housed behind the front panel, while the other side panel is placed over the side panel previously placed or housed in the front panel.
