In a conveyer of the kind comprising a pair of spaced endless chains between which are supported transverse members for carrying holders for the articles being conveyed, the holders are mounted between pairs of transverse members which are rigidly spaced apart by spacing members to form an assembly unit, the end spacing members of which connect the unit to the chains. Figs. 1, 2 show an embodiment for use in the washing and/or drying of bottles in an inverted position, the bottles being supported in holders 1 between strips 3 secured together by spacing members 4, 5, the members 4 being secured by bolts 6 to brackets 7 attached to the inner links of endless chains 9. Each holder is formed with four downwardly extending arms 2 supporting spigots 2a which engage holes 3a in the strips 3. |
