The electric machine (10) has a rotatable rotor (24) that is provided around a rotation axis relative to a stator (16). The short-circuit rings (32, 34) are designed as a squirrel-cage. The conductor bars of the squirrel-cage rotor are short-circuited to each other. The short-circuiting ring is provided with the coolant channel (56, 58, 60, 62). The coolant channel in the short-circuiting ring is obliquely extended in the radial direction of the rotor.
