The vehicle i.e. car (10) has a car-to-car communication unit (30) for exchanging operating data with traffic objects i.e. motor vehicles (18, 22, 26, 28) located within the environment of the car, so as to perform driving of the car in coordination with the motor vehicles. The car-to-car communication unit determines whether a technical device necessary for driving a particular motor vehicle is activated, and outputs a warning signal e.g. warning symbol (40), to a driver (F) of the car if the technical device of the particular motor vehicle is not activated. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a motor vehicle.
