METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING COVER GLASS FOR DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover glass for a display with high shape accuracy having a flat plate part and a bent part connected to the flat plate part.SOLUTION: In a molding step, while at least an end of a glass flat plate 50 is heated, the end of the glass flat plate 50 is pressurized using a press tool 29a, and the end of the glass flat plate 50 is deformed to form the bent part and then obtain a cover glass. The molding step is done while a portion of the glass flat plate 50 corresponding to the bent part of the cover glass is made to have such viscosity that plastic deformation and elastic deformation occur when the end of the glass flat plate 50 is deformed.
