PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a halogenated picoline derivative useful as an intermediate for producing a tetrazolyloxime derivative which can be industrially advantageously synthesized and exhibits bactericidal activity.SOLUTION: The method of producing a halogenated picoline derivative represented by formula (3) (wherein Rrepresents an alkoxycarbonyl group; Rrepresents an alkoxycarbonyl group or the like; Z represents a halogen atom or the like; m represents the number of substitutions of Z and is an integer of 0-3; a plurality of Z's may be the same or different from each other when m is 2 or more; and X represents a halogen atom) includes a step B1 of reacting a compound represented by formula (2) (wherein R, R, Z, and m have the same meanings as above) with a halogenating agent in an organic solvent, and a step B2 of reducing a reaction product obtained by the step B1.
