<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce interference noises while maintaining the brightness of two-dimensional images displayed by performing two dimensional scanning using a coherent light beam.SOLUTION: In the optical scanning device for two-dimensional image display device, a coherent pixel display beam LC, the brightness of which is modulated according to an image signal, is two-dimensionally deflected by a two-dimensional deflection unit 6, and surface elements 8 are two-dimensionally scanned using the deflected pixel display beam to form a two-dimensional image on the scanned surface elements. The scanned surface element 8 is larger than the beam diameter of the pixel display beam LC. A fine convex lens for diffusing the pixel display beam has a fine convex lens structure in which fine convex lenses are arrayed in close contact with each other at a pitch close to a pixel pitch. In the fine convex lens structure, the radius of curvature: r of a surface forming the boundary with the neighboring fine convex lens is smaller than the wavelength:λof the pixel display beam.</p> |
