An apparatus for requiring an image and an operation method thereof are provided to gain the image suitable for each image feature by selecting a suitable image acquisition mode and an image generation mode. An apparatus for requiring an image includes the followings: a brightness distribution analysis unit(120) analyzing luminance distribution of a reference image and frequency of a bright area and a dark area based on the analyzed luminance distribution; a mode selecting unit(130) selecting a suitable image acquisition mode and an image generation mode according to the analyzed luminance distribution; and the image mode obtaining one or a plurality of images. |
