The cable has an electrically insulating layer (4) comprising insulating strips (61-64), each being placed to leave discontinuities (71-74) between two of successive turns (81-84). Each strip is placed in an offset manner relative to the strips, so that the discontinuities do not coincide with discontinuities of the contiguous strips and covered by the turns. The layer has elements allowing the layer to be fire resistant. The layer has dielectric substance e.g. paste, in contact with each strip. The substance is introduced into the discontinuities so as to fill the discontinuities.
