The present invention relates to an apparatus for analyzing the preference of a user on a product, comprising: a sentimental word dictionary for storing sentimental lexicon pattern information; and a preference analysis part for classifying an opinion of the user, described in one or more documents, into a positive opinion class or a negative opinion class based on the sentimental lexicon pattern information defined in the sentimental word dictionary using a statistics based machine learning algorithm.
