PROCESS FOR DEFORMING A HOLLOW PART

The tool has dies (2a, 2b) assigned to an adjustable die (3). The adjustable die is subdivided into a set of movable segments, which are displaceably mounted in different directions. The segments support a metallic hollow part (1) e.g. transmission shaft, to be formed, in a radial direction during plastic shaping of the hollow part on multiple sides. The segments are adjusted in the radial direction, during plastic shaping of the hollow part. A common transmission element is assigned to the segments. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a hollow part.
