摘要 Diamond compound of the carbon-silver type for coating catheters, which inhibits the bacterial adhesion and has a low coefficient of friction. The use of the mixture law makes possible to predict the behavior of the properties of the compound with different percentages of DLC and silver. The use of Van der Waals, JKR theory and Rabinowicz equation are useful for analyzing the variation of the adhesion energy and coefficient of friction for different percentages of DLC and Ag of the compound brought into contact with the human skin. A compound formed by 15% DLC-85% Silver and up to 80% DLC-20% Ag is obtained, which is biocompatible, hemocompatible, with the ability to reduce the bacterial infections and with a low coefficient of friction, for coating catheters.
