A wearable device that informs users about personal security, providing haptic feedback through cold, heat and/or vibration. The wearable device provides the user an indication of the threat level and/or type for their current location based on information obtained from a database which aggregates data from various sources to determine threat levels for multiple locations/areas. The sources for the aggregated threat data include: crime data, weather, traffic, venue information, sentiment, social media or open forums, user generated data and CCTV coverage etc. The database may be used to plot a safe route to an intended destination. The haptic device may provide information about threat levels whilst travelling along the route and may also be used in a predictive manner. The aim is to allow a user to safely travel through a city/municipality avoiding dangerous situations/areas. The wearable device may be attached in a variety of ways (Figure 2) to the user/users clothing at various places. An algorithm may also be used to process the aggregated data to determine the threat levels and a mobile application may also be used to display a current location and risk/threat level, plot a safe route, maintain a user profile and/or view a map with security relevant information plotted on it. |
