The invention relates to a vacuum drum (5) adapted to receive a labelling material web (6), configured to be operatively coupled with means for cutting said labelling material web (6) into portions (L), applying an adhesive on said cut portions (L) of labelling material and for transferring, downstream from the applying means, the glued portions (L) to respective items to be labelled; the vacuum drum (5) having a lateral surface (11) comprising at least one section (11a) adapted to cooperate with the portions (L) and delimited, at opposite angular ends, by respective front and back damping pads (12, 13); the lateral surface section (11a) comprising one or more panels (15) defining a quasi-cylindrical surface; the front damping pad (12) and the at least one panel (15) comprising, at least in a superficial portion thereof, a material such that the adhesion of the adhesive to the labelling material is greater than the adhesion of the adhesive to the material, the cohesion of the adhesive being also greater than the adhesion of the adhesive to the material. |
