<p>An apparatus 2 for the electrical stimulation of a users feet and legs has two contact members 14a,14b each with a contact surface 16a,b for contacting the plantar surface of a foot of the user. In use, electrical current is supplied to the contact surfaces, which are of opposite polarities (figure 5), to stimulate the plantar muscles of the feet, such that current passes through one foot to the other. The contact surfaces are moveable to allow the angle of the joints of the feet and ankles to change. Preferably, the contact surfaces are contoured to accommodate the soles of the users feet and are pivoted about a mid-point. The contact surfaces may be lockable to prevent movement during use.</p> |
