A tape unit (500) is provided that holds a tape roll around which is wound a tape (55) and that is housed inside a cassette case. The tape unit (500) is provided with a holder shaft portion that is inserted into a shaft hole formed in a winding center of the tape roll. The holder shaft portion rotatably supports the tape roll that is held by the tape unit (500). An indicator portion (800) is disposed radially outside the tape roll that is supported by the holder shaft portion. The indicator portion (800) includes at least one hole portion (801) and indicates a type of the tape (55).
