The present invention relates to a method for controlling cruise control speed, and more specifically, to a device and method for controlling cruise control speed which are capable of providing various control methods according to a driving mode by enabling various settings of filtering time constants, and the main point of which is to generate an optimal torque output by controlling a throttle according to an eco, normal, and sports mode and adjusting a transmission pattern. According to the present invention, an eco mode, a normal mode, and a sports mode are acquired through inputs for each vehicle mode while cruise control is active and an optimal torque output is formed by controlling a throttle in response to each of the modes. Therefore, compared with an existing technology which simply implements changes of a following speed, it is possible to supply a proper torque for each of the subdivided modes, thereby providing optimized riding quality to a driver. In addition, better mileage can be obtained in the eco mode through mileage control rather than acceleration by minimizing the variation of throttle valve opening and by implementing a restriction of shifting to a low gear in the transmission pattern. Also, dynamic driving can be provided by providing high instantaneous acceleration rather than the mileage control through a large variation of the throttle valve opening in the sports mode and by controlling the shifting to a low gear in the transmission pattern. |
