PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition by which a liquid crystal element can be obtained, having higher productivity and showing a lower haze value when voltage is applied. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal composition including a non-polymerizable compound having an optical rotary property of a first direction, a nematic liquid crystal and a polymerizable substance, the polymerizable substance includes a polymerizable compound having an optical rotary property of a second direction opposite to the first direction and the nematic liquid crystal shows a helical direction induced by the polymerizable compound having the optical rotary property of the second direction before the polymerizable substance in the liquid crystal composition is polymerized.
