704,606. Jet propulsion plant. DEVAUX, R March 20, 1950 [March 22, 1949; May 13, 1949], No. 6918/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 110 (3). [Also in Groups XXVII and XL(a)] In a jet propulsion engine water is injected into the intake of the engine, for disassociation by means of electric sparks (see Group XL(a)) into hydrogen and oxygen. A small quantity of ozone may simultaneously be produced. A portion of the air entering the engine is led past an atomizer jet for injecting the water and the spark gap comprises a rotating electrode formed by an airscrew driven by the gas stream so that the number of electric sparks is proportional to the air flow to the engine. |
