a communication unit that communicates with a designated information processing device, a controller that, when the communication unit attempts communication with the designated information processing device and the attempt is refused by the designated information processing device, controls the communication unit so as to attempt communication with the designated information processing device by using identifying (ID) information on a transmission source used when a communication attempt with the designated information processing device was last accepted by the designated information processing device; a changing unit that periodically varies at least a part of the identifying information on the transmission source at regular time intervals to realize a temporary address function, each item of varied ID information identifying the information processing device; and a notifying unit that, if a number of pairs of ID information items on transmission source and of ID information items on destination stored in the storage unit exceeds a preset level, notifies a user of the excess.
