The present invention relates to a location based messaging service system using an interest channel. The system comprises a user terminal and a message service server. The user terminal, in which an application is installed, transmits information on the measured location of a user to the message service server when the user signs up for a membership and logs on to the service server using the installed application; receives information on users within a predetermined distance from the user among other members of the service server from the message service server; and displays the information on the members within the predetermined distance. The message service server receives information on the measured user location from the user terminal; checks the location information on members who access the service server among members in a database; calculates a distance between the user and each member who has been checked using the location information on the user and the checked members; and transmits information on members of the calculated distance within the predetermined distance to the user terminal. And when the system receives information on members from the message service server in response to a request of the user terminal, the system receives the interest channel information on the members as well and provides information on other members participating in the same interest channel as the user terminal among the members located within the predetermined distance.
