PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing device improved in operability.SOLUTION: An opening and closing device includes: a main plate 11 fixed to a device main unit 2; an arm plate 20 fixed to a display unit 3; a hinge mechanism 50 pivotally supporting the arm plate 20 between a closed position and an open position relative to the main plate 11 and disposed inside the device main unit 2; a slide plate 30 slidably disposed on the arm plate 20 and sliding between a first position near to the hinge mechanism 50 and a second position spaced apart from the hinge mechanism 50 than the first position; and a wire spring 40 for biasing the slide plate 30 toward the first position. When the arm plate 20 is opened and closed for the main plate 11, the slide plate 30 slides between the first position and the second position with respect to the arm plate 20 by the engagement of the display unit 3 with the device main unit.
