<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify, more accurately than prior art, a time point in a continuous image forming job at which an abnormal image with white streaks is generated, so as to stably suppress the generation of the abnormal image with white streaks without reducing productivity of image formation.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus, upon reception of input of a continuous image forming job, determines a time point to interrupt the continuous image forming job from the average image area ratio in the continuous image forming job and the estimated wear amount of a cleaning blade, and performs idle rotation to rotate a photoreceptor while inhibiting a developing device from supplying toner to the photoreceptor during the interruption period of the continuous image forming job, so as to perform cleaning processing with the cleaning blade.</p> |
