PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable Doppler measurement to be performed more efficiently when information on a blood vessel needs to be acquired.SOLUTION: A Doppler measurement apparatus 10 for detecting a frequency signal which has been subjected to a Doppler shift, from a signal of a reflection acoustic wave based on an acoustic wave emitted from a probe 11 to a subject to be examined M, and performing Doppler measurement includes: extraction means 28 for extracting a blood vessel region in the subject to be examined M based on a signal of a photoacoustic wave generated in the subject to be examined M based on a photoacoustic effect and detected by the probe 11, and setting a region that includes the extracted blood vessel region and is part of an imageable range 4 specified by acoustic transmission and reception means as a Doppler measurement object region; and control means 34 for controlling the probe 11 so that the Doppler measurement is performed only for the Doppler measurement object region set by the extraction means 28. |
