<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of reducing the action of gravity with respect to tracking control without increasing the number of components.SOLUTION: An optical disk device includes: an optical pickup 2 for reading the information of an optical disk d by irradiating the optical disk d with a laser beam; a control processing circuit 5 for performing tracking control to allow the laser beam to follow up a track in which a signal string of the optical disk d is recorded by controlling an objective lens 8 of the optical pickup 2; and an off-track signal generation circuit 4 for generating an off-track signal as a binary signal indicating whether or not the laser beam is present on the track. The optical disk device includes a controller 6 for counting the off-track signal, and for controlling the control processing circuit 5 to allow the objective lens 8 to move in the radial direction of the optical disk d from a state that the tracking control is not performed to search for the two positions of the objective lens 8 where the count results of the off-track signal are made equal, and for correcting the position of the objective lens 8 by using their middle point position as the reference position of the tracking control.</p> |
