PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device and a sound control method capable of suppressing a variation in volume of sound.SOLUTION: An image projection device includes: a mercury lamp 19; a cooling fan 23 that cools the mercury lamp 19 with air blow in association with rotation, and can vary the rotation number per unit time; a suction fan 25 that performs suction of air in association with rotation; and a rotation control unit 29 that controls the rotation number of the suction fan 25 so that a volume of a sound based on a volume of a sound generated in association with the rotation of the cooling fan 23 and a volume of a sound generated in association with the rotation of the suction fan 25 is within a predetermined sound volume before and after the rotation number of the cooling fan 23 is varied. |
