PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a quantitative area, in an image obtained by photoacoustic tomography.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition apparatus comprises: a detector for detecting photoacoustic waves generated from a subject irradiated with light from a light source; a generator for generating an image indicating characteristic information within an image-captured area within the subject, using the photoacoustic waves; an acquisition unit for acquiring information relating to the quantitativity of a measurement value of the photoacoustic waves within the image-captured area; and an extractor for extracting the quantitative area in the image, on the basis of the information relating to the quantitativity. |
