PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting element array having desired light emitting distribution.SOLUTION: The semiconductor light emitting element array comprises: a support substrate; and plural semiconductor light emitting elements aligned on the support substrate in a first direction. Each of the plural semiconductor light emitting elements includes: a lower electrode arranged on the support substrate; a first semiconductor layer arranged on the lower electrode and having a first conductive type; an active layer arranged on the first semiconductor layer; a second semiconductor layer that is arranged on the active layer, that has a second conductive type different from the first conductive type, and whose layer thickness is gradually increased in a second direction crossing with the first direction; and an upper electrode arranged on the second semiconductor layer in a region in which at least the thickness of the second semiconductor layer is relatively thick.
