PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing rear end thickening from being noticeable even after duration of use.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a developer carrier 130; a toner carrier 150; an image carrier 2a; a measurement unit; and a bias control unit 272. The bias control unit 272 controls, at a predetermined timing, a bias application unit to vary a voltage to be applied respectively to the developer carrier 130 and the toner carrier 150 in order to adjust the amount of toner supplied to the image carrier 2a from the toner carrier 150, and forms a plurality of toner images according to the varied voltage. The bias control unit 272 acquires a saturated toner amount on the basis of a value related to the toner regarding the plurality of toner images, and adjusts developing bias conditions between the image carrier 2a and the toner carrier 150 on the basis of the saturated toner amount and an initial saturated toner amount as an initial value. |
