PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support device and a support method, capable of supporting the standing-up motion while urging to use residual force.SOLUTION: A support device includes an input part for designating right and left distribution of load generated in a body region of an object person accompanying a standing-up motion. A first calculation part calculates a projection position of the center of gravity of the object person on a floor surface. A second calculation part calculates an area of the floor surface where the projection position is included when the standing-up motion is performed. A third calculation part calculates a target position closer to a large distribution-designated body region than a small distribution-designated body region according to the distribution designated by the input part within the range of that area. A fourth calculation part calculates a direction from the projection position toward the target position. Further the device includes an output part for outputting the designated direction in which the object person should incline his upper body prior to the standing-up motion according to that direction. |
