PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and an imaging method that are capable of acquiring an image with a large depth of field.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging unit that images a subject to acquire image information; a focusing position control unit that controls a focus position of the imaging unit; a distance measuring unit that acquires distance information from its own device to the subject; an information storage unit that holds blur characteristics information of an optical system of the imaging unit; and a blur removal processing unit that removes a blur of the image information. The blur removal processing unit removes the blur of the image information on the basis of the blur characteristics information corresponding to focusing information and the distance information.
