PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximally suppress a rise in haze when an optical film to be used as a λ/4 phase difference film is manufactured by a stretching process based on a high temperature and a high stretching magnification, and prevent a generation of display unevenness such as contrast unevenness and the like in an image display device when used in a circular polarization plate by exhibiting sufficient reverse wavelength dispersibility.SOLUTION: At least one kind of specific compounds is contained in an optical film containing cellulose ester, and let a phase difference in an in-plane direction to be measured by wavelengths of 450 nm, 550 nm and 650 nm be respectively Ro(450), Ro(550) and Ro(650), an optical film has a retardation value to be expressed by the following expressions (a) to (c). (a) 110nm≤Ro(550)≤170nm, (b) 0.72≤Ro(450)/Ro(550)≤1.03 and (c) 0.83≤Ro(550)/Ro(650)≤1.03. |
