PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a relative position of a recording dot between adjacent head modules with high accuracy even when using a scanner with low resolution.SOLUTION: A plurality of test patterns each of which has a different shift quantity are recorded while changing the shift quantity of a recording position in a second direction of a first head module and a second head module that are adjacent to each other. From read data of the test patterns, a density of an area recorded by a recording element of an overlapping area between the first head module and the second head module is acquired. From the shift quantity and the density, an initial amount of displacement of the recording position in the second direction of the first head module and the second head module is calculated. |
