<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pointing device having a high operability and portability.SOLUTION: The pointing device includes: a bottom surface having a rectangular shape with the length of a long side being 4 cm to 10 cm and the length of a short side being 1 cm to 4 cm; a left side surface erected substantially perpendicular to the bottom surface at the side of a first short side of the bottom surface; a right side surface erected substantially perpendicular to the bottom surface at the side of a second short side of the bottom surface; a rear side surface provided at the side of a first long side of the bottom surface; a front side surface provided at the side of a second long side of the bottom surface, and a top surface facing substantially parallel to the bottom surface at an interval of 0.5 cm to 3 cm at least as a casing. The pointing device further includes: a photo sensor which converts light into an electric signal at a prescribed position of the front side surface; a click determination part for determining whether or not a click operation is performed based on the electric signal obtained by the photo sensor; and a click information generation part for generating click information when the click operation is determined to be performed.</p> |
