PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for providing a guide for an icon.SOLUTION: In a guide setting mode, an electronic device may designate an icon in response to a first user input and set a guide by associating the icon with content to be provided as a guide for the designated icon. After the guide setting mode, the electronic device may display a screen and the guide-set icon and play the content for the guide-set icon in response to detection of a second user input on the guide-set icon.
