PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line carrier communication apparatus capable of achieving stable operation by preventing leakage of electromagnetic waves even with a simplified configuration.SOLUTION: The power line carrier communication apparatus comprises: a transmission circuit 10 that is connected with a power line 9 and transmits a signal S1s to the power line 9; a reception circuit 11 that is connected with the power line 9 and receives a signal S1r from the power line 9; and an output suppression circuit 12 that is connected with the power line 9 and suppresses an output of a signal S1s transmitted from the transmission circuit 10 by connecting a signal attenuation element 12A between the transmission circuit 10 and a common c only during transmission of a signal S1s by the transmission circuit 10.
