PURPOSE: A membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell is provided to secure the durability improvement of a fuel cell even with a thin electrode membrane, and to be able to satisfy the mechanical strength and performance of the fuel cell. CONSTITUTION: A membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell is that a secondary gasket (21) for protecting an electrode membrane (11) is extended to a gas diffusion layer (17) so that the secondary gasket and the boundary part of the gas diffusion layer are overlapped. The extended part of the secondary gasket is the part corresponding to gas inlet (a) and outlet (b), and both sides (c,d) of the gas diffusion layer. The extended part of the secondary gasket is inserted into the inside of the gas diffusion layer to be arranged between catalyst layers (13) positioned on both sides of the gas diffusion layer and the electrode membrane. |
