609706 Clamp Foot Fluid Jet Apparatus, A clamp 3 to clamp a plate to be cut by a cutting tool is provided with a foot 4, 6 having an outer ring 4 to which a fluid can be supplied from the clamp mount via passage 36 and an inner ring 6 mounted within the inner peripheral edge of the outer ring 4 and having a central aperture within the confines of which the cutting of the plate by the cutting tool is performed. The fluid supplied to the outer ring is supplied via a passage 39, 40 in the outer ring to a groove in the outer periphery of the inner ring and from the groove via passages 26 through the inner ring to jet outlets in the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring to impinge on the area at which cutting is being performed to remove waste or coolant. The inner ring can be removed and replaced and the groove in the outer periphery of the inner ring is sealed to the inner periphery of the outer ring. |
