The method involves formation of a sub-base (20) representing an electrode on a substrate (10). An organic layer (30) is formed on top of a part of the sub-base. An upper layer (40) is formed for another electrode. The sub-base is irradiated for engraving by laser irradiation. An opening (22) is provided with a depth equal to thickness of the sub-base. A faded zone (24) of the sub-base is produced in the vicinity of the opening. An insulating layer (50) is formed and placed so as to cover a part of the faded zone of the sub-base located in an edge of the opening. An independent claim is also included for an organic LED.
