The invention provides an image display device mounted on head, which displays a plurality of pictures and has advantages of good usability and less restriction in design. The device has a bar-shaped light guiding portion (20) which is jointed with a first ocular lens optical portion (13a) and a second ocular lens optical portion (13b). A first image light (51a) incident from a first display element (16a) transmits inside the bar-shaped light guiding portion and is guided to the first ocular lens optical portion (13a) and a second image light (51b) incident from a second display element (16b) transmits inside the bar-shaped light guiding portion and is guided to the second ocular lens optical portion. When an observer mounts the image display device on head, the bar-shaped light guiding portion is horizontally supported, the first image light coming from the first ocular lens optical portion and the second image light coming from the second ocular lens optical portion respectively emit to eyeballs, thus forming an image with two horizontally arranged pictures in the visual field of the observer. |
