The method involves defining a set of parameters to be applied during drag finishing or vibratory finishing with regard to quality of abrasive stones, and a possible liquid such as water, utilized for bathing of the stones. A set of frequency and amplitude of vibrations is determined. A wear of the stones is determined. A preliminary step of reduction of possible choice of the parameters to be applied during drag finishing or vibratory finishing is performed by application of exploratory ranges on identical polishing test-tubes (7) presenting simple geometrical forms. An independent claim is also included for a device for developing a range of finishing a turbomachine part by drag finishing or vibratory finishing.
