Producing isocyanates and/or polyisocyanates by reacting corresponding amines with phosgene optionally in presence of an inert medium in a reactor (1), comprises supplying an amine-containing first feed stream to the reactor in liquid form, and supplying phosgene-containing second feed stream to the second reactor in gaseous form, where the reactor is a centrifugal reactor, which has a rotating packing (9) around central axis (7) in a housing (13), and the first- and second feed stream of the rotating package are supplied such that the reactant streams are mixed by centrifugal force.
