Tool changer that allows using different types of tool holders comprises: at least two fingers (2) as means for holding a tool holder by a rotation motion of at least one of the fingers with respect to a hinge (4) integrally joined to the finger; an arm (1) as a supporting structure that comprises on at least one of its ends the fingers, attached to a shaft that moves and rotates about its own axis; and at least one actuator (8) to transmit a motion. The tool changer also comprises at least one cam, which comprises on one of its faces at least one groove (6) that houses a follower (3) provided in a finger. The cam is driven by the actuator to transmit to it a linear displacement motion. In turn the cam, by means of the groove, transmits to the finger the rotation motion about the hinge.
