The battery (1) has a housing (2) having same dimensions as a reference battery, and a mockup cell (3) having dimensions corresponding to a reference cell. A force creation element e.g. spring element, is arranged in the mockup cell for simulation of force corresponding to the reference cell, and a planar heating element is integrated in the mockup cell for simulation of heat corresponding to the heat generated during operation of the reference cell. A temperature sensor and a force sensor are arranged in the housing.
