<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability while suppressing hardware scale in a disk array control apparatus utilizing striping.SOLUTION: A disk array control apparatus comprises: demultiplexing/multiplexing means in which input data are outputted while being demultiplexed for (n) pieces of active storage devices and data for the (n) pieces of devices from the (n) pieces of active storage devices are multiplexed and outputted to a host; switching means for switching connection of the (n) pieces of active storage devices, (m) pieces of reserve storage devices and the demultiplexing/multiplexing means; and control means for controlling the switching means. The control means includes: a state acquisition function for acquiring, from the (n) pieces of active storage devices, information indicating states of the active storage devices; a determination function for determining the active storage device having a possibility of failure occurrence, on the basis of the acquired information indicating the states of the (n) pieces of active storage devices; and a copy function for causing the switching means to connect the active storage device having the possibility of failure occurrence with one of the reserve storage devices and controlling copy from the active storage device having the possibility of failure occurrence to the reserve storage device.</p> |
