The cover (50) has a connecting section i.e. double plug, for another cover and/or a cable chain on a side that faces towards a side of a cable box/feedthrough (1). The former cover partially closes the box/feedthrough at another side. A fastening device fastens the former cover at a holder (3) of the box/feedthrough by arms (16), or at a collar (5) by a detent or snap mechanism. An annular gap remains between the cover and the holder for guiding a cable around 50% of the cover. The gap is partially or completely covered by brush hairs when the box/feedthrough is provided in a closed state.
