The present invention relates to a stereoscopic image display device capable of displaying a multi-view image and a driving method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a stereoscopic image display device comprises: a display panel divided into virtual blocks; a backlight unit including light sources emitting light to the display panel; a light source driver circuit configured to supply light source driving current to each of the light sources such that the light sources emit light in a block unit of the display panel; an image processing unit including a multi-view image generating unit to calculate disparities from left-eye image data and right-eye image data and create multi-view image data using the disparities, and a light source control unit to analyze the disparities by blocks and control the brightness of light from the light sources corresponding to each of the blocks.
