<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce toner consumption and prevent reduction in glossiness.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, when the amount of exposure is controlled for an image with a pattern having a spatial frequency of 0.1-3.0 c/mm, the amount of exposure in an edge part of the pattern is increased by a first exposure amount based on the exposure amount of a non-edge part, so that a difference between a post-exposure potential of a photoreceptor drum in the edge part of the pattern and a post-exposure potential Vi of the non-edge part is a first voltage V1. The amount of exposure in an edge peripheral part adjacent to the edge part is increased by a second exposure amount based on an exposure amount of a part excluding the edge peripheral part, in a non-image part, so that a difference between a post-exposure potential of the photoreceptor drum in the edge part and a charging potential Vo in the non-edge part is a second voltage V2 larger than the first voltage, in the non-image part.</p> |
