PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing apparatus attaining reduction in load on a user in the work for correcting a heart muscle area extracted from an image.SOLUTION: The medical image processing apparatus includes: an image storage unit storing data on a plurality of images composing time series relating to the subject's heart into which a contrast dye is injected; an estimation unit estimating a heart muscle area from the plurality of images, on the basis of a luminance value; a generation unit generating a plurality of luminance value temporal change curved lines corresponding to the plurality of positions in the heart muscle area on the basis of the plurality of images; a determination unit determining whether or not each of the plurality of positions in the heart muscle area corresponds to the position on the heart muscle of the subject's body on the basis of the waveform of each of the plurality of luminance value temporal change curved lines; and a display unit displaying a determination result of the determination unit.
