<p>The present invention addresses the problem of providing a friction material capable of ensuring required performance at high speed and under high load, in relation to stability of the friction coefficient, feed resistance, and wear resistance, said friction material being a molded friction material composition of a NAO material not containing a copper component. The problem is solved by using a friction material composition that does not contain metal units other than copper or alloys other than copper alloys, and does contain: 4.0-8.0 wt% of a bonding material; 1.0-4.0 wt% of an organic fiber; 0.5-4.0 wt% of a metal sulfide lubricant as a lubricant; 2.0-7.0 wt% of a carbonaceous lubricant; 15.0-27.0 wt% of titanate; 23.0-38.0 wt% of an inorganic friction adjustment material having a hardness, as an inorganic friction adjustment material, of at least 4.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness; 2.0-10.0 wt% of an inorganic friction adjustment material having a hardness of less than 4.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness; 3.0-7.0 wt% of an organic friction adjustment material; and 2.0-3.0 wt% of a pH adjustment material.</p> |
